beyond hard mode
Make all missions into time challenge toggleable after you have completed all in Hard mode. TOGGLE, age is getting to me, let me give you a picture. brb
screenie
No title comes with this, just a fun challenge to see how fast you can complete a mission and its bonus in hard mode and names will be display on a notice board of some kind in that mission outpost.
Edited: i bold some text, just incase everyone thinks it is a must to do, this is something extra that when you have finished a game, and you do not want to grind, or you don't like to farm, of for what ever reason, just to see if you can make the mission in a designated time. and what is your best time.
this is inspired by this thread: sorry I was lazy to look for it earlier

I simply detest Timed Missions. It stresses the wrong aspect of this game. All strategy is thrown out of the window in favor of hitting hard and fast. Not my idea of fun.

I would be more in favor of making all timed missions into missions with bonus with minor lore attached as in prophecies. Timed missions are not fun. /notsigned

I'm in favor of displaying a total time taken after each mission, its a fun thing for me to try and beat my times with every new character through factions, which makes it more fun then the more boring nightfall/prophecies missions.
This isn't a change designed to make the bonuses into time limits on other missions, its just to show a total time at the end of it in case you wanted to know.

I would like it more if it was more like what Meth said-just slap in a NPC that keeps track of the times.

I still don't like the idea. Read it earlier and did not bother to comment.
Now that you made some passages bold and reformatted in Fixedsys you caught m attention.
So.
/notsigned...no need for more epeen and more areas opened to Ursan high speed button mashing.

>>>Actually, lazy npc is a challenge, if you can complete a mission within the time frame set by Arena Net. Show that you have master the control of your heros/henchmen.

>>>Toggle., you don't even have to do Hard Mode if you don't want to, this is just extra for players who wants that extra challenge.

I think it would be more fun if they made a time board for UW, FoW, and dungeons. It would be interesting to see the top times.

Yes a NPC listing times of each mission just for fun but not affecting the missions at all.

Yes, a "scoreboard" would be brilliant. Doesn't even need to be important stuff. Could just track the people who've connected in the past 2 hours.
Most Iboga petals
Most red iris flowers
Most /deaths
The scoreboard display would change every so often (petals -> flowers -> /deaths etc), so it's not like people could reliably plan what to farm, in order to get their name up.
Just some stuff you can see and wonder how the hell people got so much of that stuff (or wonder about what they could be doing with all that stuff). It's sobering to see what people can do when they put their mind to it.

I'm not against the idea of another challenge in GW, I just don't get too excited about this one though. No offense, but I'm not crazy about timed missions.
*edit*
However, I'm all in favor of more challenges in GW and stuff to do. We need something to keep us busy/entertained/away from the myriad of other awesome MMOs that are lurking on the horizon.

Oh no not another "post-hard mode" thread...
For reasons mentioned, /notsigned. One of the major downfalls of Factions was that to get masters you have to complete a mission in a designated time (except for The Eternal Grove and Gyala Hatchery). Some people prefer to take their time and get the mission done right and not wrecklessly. If they rush to try to get it done in a certain time limit, they'll probably die because they can't take their time to do it right and pull and such.
Not only that, but aren't you already doing this for Guardian of Cantha? Those missions are still timed in hard mode and you get a title for doing them. And it tell syou how long it took to complete the mission. Why do it all over again for nothing?
And I think hard mode is fine as is, if anything it needs to be changed in certain areas so that it's not nearly impossible. And don't start the flames people, if you want to play HM, go nuts. That doesn't mean it's a piece of cake.

Well, you certainly don't have to get the Master's bonus in any of the games, Tender Wolf. They're just there for people to test and challenge themselves.
Adding increased difficulties are well, just that: adding increased difficulties for those who prefer more of a challenge. While there are people who just play for the for the titles and lewtz, their main intention is to provide the player with different and more stressful challenges.
This design of different difficulty levels has been in existence in gaming for years now. If you find the game too easy, up the difficulty. If you find it too hard, you can lower it. All that Pie is asking for is another difficulty level. If you find it too difficult, then it would be unwise to present yourself to the frustration.
This isn't a "stay in the easy mode, newb!" post, it's a "don't do something you don't enjoy" post. There are people who will enjoy and appreciate a harder difficulty, and there will be those that don't - and all the latter has to do is not play through it.
And if you do want to experience the harder content, there's only one thing you can do: improve yourself as a player.
Or, well, ya know, max out Norn and go UB crazy, but that's for a different thread ; )
~~~
Well, even though that was slightly on topic, the idea is nonetheless pretty cool. Speed runs would become a bit more popular, and encourage a bit more tactical play ; )
